Verrazzano Supplemental Application
For Incoming Freshmen
Priority Deadline for Fall: February 1
Applications received by February 1st will be reviewed first.
Applications received after February 1st will be reviewed on a rolling basis through April 15.
First, after
applying to the College of Staten Island, you will receive an email inviting you to claim your CUNYfirst account. When you log-in to the CUNYfirst Student Center, you will see the CUNYfirst ID number (EMPLID), an 8-digit number, at the top of your self-service screen. You need this number for the Verrazzano application.
Second, complete this application form, using your contact information, not that of a parent or other relative.
Third, after submitting this application form, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to submit the following materials:
- two confidential, typed letters of recommendation from high school counselors or teachers (letters can be sent separately to our office via email or hard copy)
- a resume listing work, extracurricular, community, and service activities (including dates of participation), honors and awards received
- a high school transcript
- an essay, one page maximum, telling us a little bit about yourself. Don’t just reiterate your resume or transcript; rather, describe who you are or who you want to be. What are you passionate about? We would like to get a sense of you as the unique person you are.
